Lan Ha Bay entrance fee: the official categories

The Lan Ha Bay entrance fee is an administrative sightseeing charge for the bays of the Cát Bà archipelago. It is separate from the cost of a boat, meals or a cabin. The applicable schedule comes from Hải Phòng resolution 47/2025/NQ-HĐND, dated 10 December 2025 and effective from 1 January 2026. The fee information here was reviewed on 2 November 2026.

Choose the category that matches the actual visit. A day trip without an overnight stay belongs to a different category from a cruise sleeping on the bay. The overnight categories are listed in their own right; do not build a price by adding the day fee to an overnight fee. First decide on a day cruise or a cabin cruise, then compare how the product handles admission.

Day visits and overnight charges in VND

The schedule lists an adult charge of 120,000 VND for a visit without an overnight stay, with 60,000 VND for children aged 6 and above in the child category. For a visit with one night on the bay, the adult charge is 400,000 VND and the child charge is 300,000 VND. These are visit charges, not advertised cabin prices.

For two nights, the respective charges are 600,000 VND and 500,000 VND. For three nights, they are 650,000 VND and 550,000 VND. The table keeps the categories separate so you can compare them directly with the length of the booked visit.

Children, exemptions and limited reductions

Children under 6 are exempt from the sightseeing fee. The resolution also names people with particularly severe disabilities and certain registered school groups from Hải Phòng among the exemptions. These are specific administrative categories. If one applies to your group, establish the supporting documents and booking arrangements rather than treating the exemption as a general discount on all travel costs.

A 50% reduction applies to certain legally defined groups. The senior reduction applies to Vietnamese citizens aged 60 and above. Overseas visitors should use the relevant visitor category unless they meet a listed eligibility condition. A student card on its own is not a reason to deduct a discount from your budget. Keep any fee exemption separate from the boat’s own child or cabin pricing.

What the featured overnight cruise includes

The featured two-day, one-night cruise includes entry fees and tickets, meals on the boat and a cabin with a private balcony and bathroom. Hanoi or Ninh Bình return transport is extra, and drinks are excluded. This is an example of a package carrying admission within its own inclusions, rather than a direct sale of an administrative ticket.

For comparison, read the inclusion and exclusion lists as a pair. If a product includes entry, avoid budgeting the same included charge again. If admission is extra, keep a separate VND allowance. Product prices shown in USD and administrative charges in VND describe different parts of the purchase; use the stated currencies without making an assumed conversion.

Opening hours and departure arrangements

Use the departure and check-in times of the selected boat when planning the day. A cruise timetable describes that product’s boarding arrangements. It should not be turned into an opening schedule for the whole natural bay. Match your transport to the exact meeting pier and leave time for the check-in requested by the trip.

Bến Bèo is an excursion departure point on Cát Bà, while Tuần Châu serves other departures. The arrival guide explains these distinctions. Weather can affect the departure as well as individual activities. The sightseeing fee category does not settle whether a particular water activity can operate.

Keep the trip budget in separate parts

List the boat or cabin price, included meals, transfers and any separately payable sightseeing charge. Carrying VND for on-site costs is a useful planning choice; establish the actual payment arrangements with the trip. The tour comparison helps you separate a transport option from the cruise itself.

If adding a national-park outing, budget it separately from bay sightseeing. A bay visit fee is not a national-park admission or a kayak permit. The clearest comparison is between complete products with the same departure basis and length, rather than between an administrative fee and a bundled cruise price.
